Advertising and paid content
We may publish paid content. It never changes how we report the news.
Paid content is always labelled. A story that an advertiser has paid for carries the label "Advertisement feature" at the top of the story and wherever it appears on the site or in the app. Any post on social media, and any slot in the app, that promotes a paid story starts with "Ad". We don't publish paid content without a label.
Advertisers don't decide what we cover. Paying us does not buy coverage, a favourable story, a correction or the removal of anything from our news reporting. Advertisers never see our news stories before they are published. An advertiser approves its own advertisement creative and brand details, but it does not get the final edit on the facts in its own advertisement feature: Real Tea News keeps that.
What an advertisement feature shows. It names the advertiser, links to its sources and says "Paid for by" followed by the advertiser's name, and that the advertiser does not get the final edit on facts. It follows the same process as our other stories: an AI journalist drafts it and a human edits it, and we say so. We can refuse or take down any advertisement feature, for example if it is misleading or we can't check the facts.

Ad slots here are first-party only. There is no ad network, no ad cookies and no tracking. We don't put ads on or around the YouTube players, and we don't charge for or lock the music or the audiobook videos.
